儿童时代

This is a bean seed. It might grow into a plant.
I have paper in a jar. I will need to give the seed water and sunlight. I will watch it and write down what happens.

Day one
I push the seed down the side of the jar so I can still see it.
I will water it. Then I will put it in a sunny spot.
How long will it take for the seed to grow into a plant?

Day two
The seed is swelling.

Day five
The roots are growing.
They grow down.

Day ten
The shoot is growing. It grows up.

Week three
Tiny leaves are forming on the stem.

Week four
The plant is growing taller and there are many more leaves now.

Week five
The plant is too big for the jar.
I put it into a pot.

Week sixteen
White flowers are forming on the stem.

Week nineteen
A flower falls off and there is a tiny bean pod underneath.

Week twenty-one
The tiny pod has grown into a big pod.

Week twenty-two
I pick the pod. There are five bean seeds inside.
Now I can grow five more plants.
